A Contagious Party Event at Greenville County Club!

Ashley Baker and Russell Procopio:

A Contagious Party Event at Greenville County Club!

The Contagious Party Band made its first appearance of the year at Greenville County Club in Wilmington Delaware. Originally part of the “DuPont” estates Greenville County Club provided the perfect ambiance for the wedding of Ashley Baker and Russell Procopio. With a fun and rambunctious introduction song by U2 the couple then shared their first dance to Celine Dion’s “Another Year Has Gone By.” The lovely ladies who front the Contagious Band (KB, and Shake) did an awesome job  performing that and the parent dances of ”I Hope You Dance” and “Wind Beneath My Wings”. With hugs and smiles all around it was a preview of the fun for the evening’s event.

The guest really took the band to task and the dance challenge was on. Contagious does this all of the time but Ashley’s and Michael’s guests came to celebrate with the lovely couple and really showed their stuff. Highlighting the evening is some video that I  just must see. One is a guest that led the crowd though a rocking version of Sweet Home Alabama and finally one of younger guest of about 10 years old (or so) rocking out and “Hitting” the high notes to Journey’s “ Don’t Stop Believing.” Memories of a life time with family and friends for our blissful couple to start off their journey through life together. The Contagious Band was honored to be the entertainment for the evening’s events and offer our best wishes to Ashley and Russell. Thank you for allowing us to be there when it all began.

Best Regards

Contagious Party Band: Shines at the Crystal Tea Room

The Contagious Band has once again been honored to have the privilege to perform at the Philadelphia landmark The Crystal Tea Room where the standard is set for elegance and style. There was no more appropriate place than here for the reception of one of the most adorable couples I’ve ever met Katie Schuster and Dr. Michael Johnson.

Surrounded by all their family and friends the magical evening started with Katie and Michael’s first dance was to Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”.  The moment seemed timeless.  This may sounds like a Best Man speech when I say it but meeting them and watching them together it would be a challenge to image them with anyone but each other.  They just fit so perfectly together.

For the parent dances the Contagious Band got to show our skills a little by setting up “I Loved Her First” by Heartland for Katie to dance with her father Daniel. With the Groom’s family being from Augusta Georgia we learned and performed a very special “Georgia On My Mind” by the late great Ray Charles. Seeing that Savannah Georgia is my home town we’ll have to keep the Georgia On my Mind song around for future use.

There are so many parts that make up a successful reception. The staff at the Crystal Tea Room made is so easy for Contagious to help make the evening unforgettable.  We were aware of all the events that needed to take place and with their expert coordination made the evening seamless.  Although I saw a wedding Bouquet completely “destroyed” during the toss to the single ladies J it was a ”fun” part of the evenings events. The dance party was incredible and the crowd met the challenge of The Contagious front line and kept the energy high all evening long. Katie and Michael finished off the evening showing their dancing skills and left everyone with a smile.

A special thanks to The Crystal Team room and most of all Katie and Michael for allowing the Contagious Band to be there when it all began. Best wishes to you both as you share life’s journeys together.

Achecar – Mosmen Wedding

The Contagious Party Band was honored to be a part of the festivities celebrating the wedding of Cassandra Achecar and Craig Mosmen. The Skytop Lodge is a beautiful facility plush but comfortable with picturesque surroundings. The staff was fantastic and the food some of the best I ever tasted.

The event started with the introductions done to beautiful Day by U2 to a very enthusiastic crowd and Cassandra and Craig shared their first dance to better Together by Jack Johnson. In short the evening “rocked” all night long and we all gave the happy couple a send off that will give them happy memories for a lifetime. I’ll let the pictures speak the thousand words. The Contagious band would like to thank Cassandra and Craig for allowing us to be a part of their special day and wishes them many happy returns.

Best regards

Richardson-Marino Wedding: Valentine’s Day 2009

kim-r-021409

This year Valentine’s Day fell on the 2nd Saturday in February. On this day the look of love has never been more beautifully represented than the wedding of Kimberly Richardson and Michael Marino with the reception in one of Philadelphia’s finest venues the Grand Ballroom at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue.

On such a special day the setting was immaculate. The Grand Ballroom is truly breathtaking with a striking display of old world charm and picturesque beauty. Every crystal in the majestic chandelier sparkled with splendor that reminds you “this day is for love” and the example of such a love radiated from Kimberly and Michael as they danced their first dance to Frank Sinatra’s “The Best Is Yet To Come”. Now as the band leader I know that our charming couple was just a bit nervous about their first dance but as they took those first rhythmic steps together the moment seemed magical. Now I can neither confirm nor deny if their feet touched the floor, but I knew from the smiles on their faces and the sparkle in their eyes that there was no concern about their future. Ahh, Valentine’s Day is here, love is in the air and it’s great to be a small part of the picture.

In such a spectacular room you may think that the guests maybe a little timid but Kimberly and Michael’s family and friends came to party and as our name states the “Contagious Party Band” we wanted to make sure we delivered. During the evening we were able to assist the guests through a fun filled version of The Temptations “My Girl” with many of the Groomsmen in the prominent position of being “The Temptations”. The ladies quickly followed suit with a live dance number of  Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” to show the fellows that they had style. Although “Contagious” loves to have a good time we never forget why we are there as Kimberly and Michael graced the crowd at center stage and showed that the evening was theirs. We were all happy to be there and help them celebrate. To top off the evening the dance floor was packed and a band - guest dance challenge took place. Those pictures should be awesome. It seems the guests always win but we don’t mind. It just goes to show that we’ll take on any challengers. The evening ended with “Love” still on top of the list as our guests all held the one’s they loved and shared the last dance with the Kimberly and Michael.

My sincerest thanks to the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue and their staff for allowing us to work with them to ensure that Kimberly and Michael’s memories of this day will be special and timeless. It takes a lot of behind the scenes work to actually make it all go so smooth and flawless. You are the finest. Our best wishes to Kimberly and Michael. I hope the day brings you the fondest of memories today, tomorrow and even 50 years from now. Thank you for allowing the Contagious Party Band to be a part of your lives.

Best Regards
